Three people from New Castle County face theft charges after police say they stole air conditioning units at Buchi Corporation, 19 Lukens Drive, New Castle, and Hope Evangelistic Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Road, New Castle.
Kimberly Porter, 28, Julio Roldan, 25, Raymond Barlow, 23, were charged with two counts of theft over $1,500, criminal mischief over $5,000, criminal mischief under $1,000, two counts of conspiracy in the second degree, resisting arrest, and two counts of trespass in the third degree. Porter's additional charge includes numerous traffic offenses.
Investigators say Jan. 31 the staff of Buchi Corporation arrived at work and discovered four central air conditioning units missing from the exterior of their building. They say the units had been cut from the electric power supply and removed from their bases. Police say Feb. 2 they stole units from the Hope Evangelistic Church and loaded them into a white Jeep Liberty.
