  • Smyrna High JV boys basketball team loses first game

  • The Smyrna High School boys JV basketball team lost their first game of the season 74-66 at Dover Friday night dropping their season record to 7-1.
    The Eagles led the whole game, and were up by 15 points going into the fourth quarter, but the Senators came back for the win.
    Smyrna was led by Donte Ritchie with 18 points and 8 rebounds, and was assisted by Charlie Taylor with 13 points, Greg Duggans with 12 points, Jameir Sudler with 10 points, and Latrelle Lee with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
    Dover went 29 for 38 at the foul line, while Smyrna made 13 of 22 free throws.
    Next up for the Eagles is an away match today, Jan. 15, at Milford. The game starts at 5 p.m.
