The next 1-2 weeks of health factoids are devoted to help combat & prevent the flu! Although there is no such thing as a true "flu season", (if there were, then why wouldn't it be everywhere all over the world?); many people DO HOWEVER, get the FLU during winter time! Most folks are susceptible when temperatures dip, and after lots of unhealthy eating from the holidays, as well as during shopping time where EVERYONE is touching EVERYTHING, that can compromise our immune system. 1) Use Hot Drinks & Honey: any warming drink can help soothe a sore throat, suppress a couth, & calm the overall cold or flu. Honey coats the throat, & can help fight viral infections. Try Buhner's Colds & Flu Tea: 2 tablespoons ginger juice, juice of 1/4 lime, pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon of honey, hot water, & a splash of apple cider vinegar (Dr. Chad's addition)
