  • Already hitting the ground running in the new year, a pair of local filmmakers, who double as seniors at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, will premier their new indie film "Insight" at the Theatre N on Tuesday, for one night only.
"Insight," filmed by Jonah Green, of Hockessin, and Sam Katz, of Pike Creek, is a sci-fi/thriller centered around 17-year-old Eli (played by Green). Throughout the film, Eli recounts the eerie story of his summer, in which he began a relationship with a new girl in town, while also learning about rapid-induction hypnosis from a mysterious neighbor. Eli struggles to use hypnosis for good and not for selfish reasons.
Shot in Delaware and Pennsylvania, "Insight" was produced by Katz and Green via their film company, Mutant Boyfriend Productions, on a shoestring budget of roughly $1,000.
In addition to "Insight," the duo has forged a strong history of creative collaboration. They've developed numerous short films together since 2008, and they have a YouTube cult following of 47,000-plus subscribers to their YouTube channel: Mutant Boyfriend Productions. The channel has more than 180,000 views.
