  • The Wilmington Fire Department will celebrate the 32 year career of outgoing chief of fire, Willie J. Patrick with a traditional fire department blowing out ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the fire headquarters, 22 S. Heald St., Wilmington.

  • The Wilmington Fire Department will celebrate the 32 year career of outgoing chief of fire, Willie J. Patrick with a traditional fire department blowing out ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the fire headquarters, 22 S. Heald St., Wilmington.
    Chief Patrick was appointed to the fire department on Oct. 13, 1980 and has led the department for six years after being appointed chief of fire on Jan. 7, 2007. The firefighters will give Patrick a final salute and acknowledge him with the blowing of the apparatus sirens; the public is invited to come.
