  • The 153rd Military Police Company departure ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 3 at the Army Aviation Facility, 41 Corporate Circle, New Castle.
    More than 150 members of the 153rd Military Police Company will be deploying to Afghanistan. After the ceremony, they will report to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurt in New Jersey to receive training specific to the Afghan theater. The unit will be there for four to six weeks before heading to Afghanistan. The primary mission of the members will be to assist and train their Afghan counterparts in security operations.
    More than 1,000 family and friends are expected to fill the facility for the ceremony. For more information, call (302) 270-0720.
