The crime happened at 4:54 a.m. at the Shell gas station at 5821 Limestone Road, as a 55-year-old male employee was preparing to open the business.
As he unlocked the front door, he was confronted by two masked suspects, one displaying a handgun, and the other a knife, police said.
The suspects forced the victim into the store and ordered him to lie on his stomach. The suspects tied the victim's hands behind his back and removed money from two cash registers. Then they took several cartons of cigarettes, took money from the victim's pocket, and fled.
The victim was able to free himself and call 911. He was not injured.
The first suspect was described as male, race unknown, 5'8" to 6'2", 190 to 230 pounds, wearing a mask and jacket, armed with an unknown type of handgun.
The second suspect was described as a male, race unknown, 5'6" to 5'9", 150 to 180 pounds, wearing a mask and dark clothing, armed with a knife.
