  • The 6th annual Red Clay Family Resource Fair was held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at John Dickinson High School.
This free, community event drew thousands of parents, teachers and students to educate families with school age children and the general community about the services provided by the Red Clay Consolidated School District, local community agencies and resources that are available to encourage student achievement and promote a healthy lifestyle.
This annual event is Red Clay's way to communicate with school families and the community all the good things going on in Red Clay schools as well as bringing together useful resources to help everyone in a multitude of ways. The theme of this year's Resource Fair was "To Make Your Child's Education a Family Project".
Christine Miller, the Parent Engagement Liaison for the Red Clay District, was thrilled with this year's turnout.
"This free, fun-filled family event welcomed over 1400 of students, their families, and members of the community to enjoy time together learning strategies and collecting resources that helps to improve student achievement, living a healthy lifestyle while encouraging parent engagement. Red Clay schools and administrative staff along with representatives from local community agencies addressed health, wellness, educational enrichment, safety and the arts provided over 115 exhibits for all to enjoy. Promoting parent engagement is a goal in the Red Clay Strategic Plan and this annual event validates that initiative in an enjoyable, exciting and engaging way."
