Green Friday People's Re-Gifting Giveaway Nov. 23

The second annual Green Friday People's Re-gifting Giveaway will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 23 on the sidewalk in front of Rodney Square on Market Street.

The one-day event offers free foods, all of which have been donated. This event is a response to what organizers call the consumerism and corporatism of Black Friday. The goal is to encourage people to support locally and independently-owned businesses.

The public is invited to shop as well as donate goods to the marketplace; both new (re-giftable) and gently-used goods are fine. Donated items can be dropped off the day of the event or brought to Hanover Presbyterian Church, 1801 Jefferson St., Wilmington, between 7 and 8 p.m. Nov. 21.
