The Festival of Trees is an annual event ushering in the holiday season statewide. The Festival is hosted by Delaware Hospice to support its programs, and features a magnificent display of decorated trees and wreaths that attract thousands of visitors each year.
"The Festival of Trees is our primary fundraising event each year," Beverly Crowl said, PR Specialist for Delaware Hospice. "There are three held statewide, one in each county."
The Festival is made possible through the support of the community. Hundreds of volunteers help organize and run the events; businesses and individuals sponsor trees and wreaths, which are decorated by artisans who donate their time and talent. At the close of the Festival, the trees and wreaths are then delivered to the sponsor's selected destination, which is often another nonprofit organization.
The Festival of Trees kicks off in New Castle County on Friday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. and continues through Sunday.
The following events will be taking place during the Festival of Trees at Cokesbury Village in Hockessin. Be sure to visit www.delawarehospice.org for complete details.
