BSD hires Kessel as new CFO

The Brandywine School District has hired Scott Kessel, a Delaware native with experience in school finances, to be its new CFO.

Kessel has worked at the Delaware Department of Education as an education associate for Charter School and School District Finance since 2007. He has extensive experience with Delaware's unit count system and school funding mechanisms, and he's also been involved with the federal consolidated grant process.

Kessel is a graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. and he earned his MBA from the University of Delaware. He will be confirmed by the school board on Nov. 19 and will begin his new appointment on Nov. 21.
