Ursuline and St. Mark's advance in DIAA volleyball tournamnet

St. Mark's defeats Charter 3-0

The St. Mark's Spartans defeated Charter School of Wilmington in the second round of the 2012 DIAA Volleyball State Tournament.

The Spartans won in three sets, 25-8,25-14, and 25-7.

St. Mark's senior OH/MB Lauren Talley led the way for the Spartans with 13 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, and 11 digs.

Ursuline defeats Caravel 3-0

Ursuline Academy defeated Caravel Academy to advance on Tuesday night, winning in three sets, 25-23, 25-16 and 25-23.

In a very closely contested match, Ursuline had many standouts.

Mary Abram led the way in kills with 15. Taylor Hollingsworth and Mary Leneweaver combined for 56 digs, while Valerie Limmina led the team with 23 assists.
