  • The fourth annual Halloween in Hockessin event is set for Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. All children dressed in costume, who are accompanied by a parent, can participate, in this safe, family-friendly event, sponsored by the Hockessin Business Association.
Stores are already getting into the spirit of Halloween: The Perfect Cup Café has a Halloween gingerbread house in its dessert case that is also a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the café, and the drawing for the yummy house will be made on Oct. 29.
A total of 37 businesses off of Valley Road, at Lantana Square, and along Old Lancaster Pike and Rt. 41 are participating in the event, and are promising candy and games for the kids and even some special treats for parents.
All participating businesses currently have candy corn maps available so trick-or-treaters know exactly where to stop throughout the day.
Participating businesses will also be marking their locations with large jack-o-lantern flags for easy visibility.
Up-to-date information about the event can be found at the Hockessin Business Association Facebook’s page at “Destination Hockessin.”
