  • A Middletown man faces charges after police say he left the scene of a burglary he committed on Oct. 1 in the 200 block of Chapman Road in Newark.
William Walden, 34, was charged with burglary in the second degree, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief under $1,000.
The 56-year-old homeowner told police that he saw two male suspects loading tools and scrap metal from the barn into their car. He said the barn had been locked, and the door had been pried open. Police say the suspects ran away after the home owner's front end loader blocked their exit. The second suspect, 28 to 32-years-old, has yet to be found.
