The A.I. du Pont Tigers opened the season with a convincing win over McKean, 40-0, on Friday night.
A.I. du Pont scored on their first offensive play from scrimmage, when quarterback Ramsey Lowery found Quadree Henderson for a 55-yard strike making it 7-0 Tigers in a blink of an eye.
Unfortunately, things didn't get better for the Highlanders from McKean.
Under relentless pressure all night long, McKean quarterback Darius Jones could do little to swing the momentum early.
The Tigers would score two more times before the first quarter ended. Lowery would break loose for a long touchdown of his own after halfback Jonathan Bell punched one in from one yard out.
Lowery would connect with Henderson once more in the second quarter, this time a 23 yard touchdown pass. Then, Bell would find the end zone on a 17 yard run.
McKean was able to put together a solid offensive drive down in A.I. territory late in the first half, but they were unable to capitalize before the half ran out.
The Tigers took a 33-0 lead into the locker room at half time. And it was all they would need.
The offensive struggles against A.I.'s strong defense continued in the second half as the Highlanders weren't able to put any points on the board.
The Tigers would strike once more, but the game was already in hand.
