  • With so much emphasis on getting the children ready for school, many people forget about the teachers and administrators who are already back in the classroom. That is why the Red Clay School District likes to welcome back their staff in a big way, making sure they are motivated for another school year.
A few years ago, the district began a tradition by holding a themed “District Day” that welcomes back teachers and staff in an enthusiastic way.
This year, it was essential to choose Olympics as the theme, as district administrators, staff and special guests welcomed back busloads of teachers on Tuesday, Aug. 21 to John Dickinson High School.
Returning teachers received gold medals during the “Opening Ceremonies” and a special assembly was held featuring “Olympic Moments” clips, Red Clay Teachers of the Year Patricia “Tricia” Dallas and Sally Fraticelli, as well as national speaker and author Guy Doud, the 1986 National Teacher of the Year, as keynote speaker.
