  • The Hockessin Book Shelf has been sponsoring “I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Scream!” — a children’s book-reading event — every Tuesday at Woodside Farm Creamery in Hockessin.
On Tuesday, July 17, the special guest readers were Charles and Kathy Shattuck, owners of Wild Birds Unlimited in Hockessin.
Approximately 35 children joined the Shattucks under the big tree at the creamery for some shade and some stories.
The couple read “Those Darn Squirrels” and “Those Darn Squirrels and the Cat Next Door.” Every time the word “squirrels” appeared in the story, Charles pointed to the cutout squirrel and the children shouted out “squirrels!”
The event will continue every Tuesday (shine only) until Aug. 14. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/pages/Community-News-Delaware/135763803144352#!/pages/Hockessin-Book-Shelf/100111694927.
