Q What is the Madagascar Cooperative Foundation?
A The Madagascar Cooperative Foundation is a non-profit that focuses on sustainable low-cost development.
Q What inspired you to work with the people of Madagascar?
A I served on a Christian mission with my church and lived there for two years. The people live in such extreme poverty, and I was shocked that the people lived in such deplorable conditions. But what really impressed me was the people – they are so kind. It was then I knew I wanted to do something.
Q How can people help the people of Madagascar?
A Money goes really far: $45 a month is minimum wage for an employee in Madagascar. For every $50 pledged in monthly donations, we are able to provide another Malagasy with a stable job that enables them to lift both themselves and those they serve out of poverty.
