DART bus riders are asked to be on the lookout for changes at bus stops and routes within the next week in Wilmington and beyond.

The bus stop at 10th & Orange Streets will be removed on June 30, DART First State officials said Thursday.

Riders are asked to board at Rodney Square on 10th St. at Market Street.

South Market Street will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. This closure is to transform the one travel lane to the new elevated lanes. S. Market Street will reopen with two travel lanes while the third lane is elevated.

DART Bus Routes 16, 23, 33, 34, 40, 54, 55 & 301 outbound will use I-95 instead of I-495 when S. Market Street is closed. DART Bus Routes 22 & 25 outbound will also be on detour. Notices posted at the bus stops on S. Market Street will instruct passengers to board Routes 16, 23, 33, 34, 40, 54, 55 & 301 on King Street at 3rd Street and board Routes 22 & 25 on A Street across from Christina Landing.

Newark Station to feature more parking

Through an agreement with the University of Delaware, DART will open 100 additional parking spaces adjacent to the existing station lot on Monday. The parking expansion is necessary to accommodate continued growth of SEPTA ridership in Newark.

There are currently 750 average daily SEPTA passenger trips at Newark.  SEPTA currently provides seven northbound and eight southbound weekday trains at Newark Station. Amtrak also serves the Newark Station.
