Drivers should be aware of lane closures as they approach the I-95 Newark Toll Plaza from both northbound and southbound directions.

The renovation of the toll plaza is in its final phase of construction, Delaware Department of Transportation spokesman Robert King saId. The lane closures are needed to apply paving and pavement markings, as well as to facilitate the final construction and project operations, he said.

Motorists should stay alert for lane restrictions approaching the toll plaza and remember to stay in their lane once at the toll plaza, King said.In addition, drivers are asked to please be aware of changing traffic patterns, slow moving construction vehicles and construction personnel.

All cash customers should continue to use “CASH” manned lanes. However, E-ZPass customers can expect intermittent opening and closing of the dedicated highway speed E-ZPass lanes, he said.

During this time E-ZPass customers may either be using the highway speed E-ZPass lanes or directed to the “CASH” lanes.  All manned lanes are configured to accept E-ZPass transactions.
