The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is set to open a resale shop to benefit their organization on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

DBCC’s Great Stuff, a nonprofit, savvy resale shop located in the Talleyville Center, will feature designer women’s clothing and accessories as well as home furnishings and accent pieces, said Caitlin Dalik, public affairs coordinator of DBCC. Dalik said all proceeds from the shop would benefit DBCC’s breast health programs and services throughout Delaware and the surrounding region.

The store is the brainchild of DBCC Board Member Stacey Bacchieri and members of the Greenville Giving Group, Dalik said.

“Our customers will be looking and feeling good from the inside out,” said Dale Maahs, the store’s general manager. “Our vision is to be the area’s premier resale boutique, to enlighten people about the issue of breast cancer and to provide them with a way to join in the fight against breast cancer – by donating to, or shopping at the boutique.”

While recognizing some people cannot afford to contribute large monetary donations to DBCC, she said even a small contribution can go a long way.

“A small donation, a helping hand or a few words of encouragement can mean the world to women battling breast cancer,” Maahs said. “We hope our resale shop supporters will feel the intrinsic rewards of donating items and shopping here.”

In addition, proceeds from the shop will benefit DBCC’s programs which work to increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, offer access to mammograms and offer support and resources to women and men of Delaware who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, Dalik said.

Although the boutique will offer only women's clothing, Maahs said the shop will include something for everyone, noting furniture is a necessity for both men and women.

She said opening the shop is a testament to DBCC's desire to combat breast cancer.

“It shows how devoted DBCC is to finding a cure for breast cancer.”
